Joe H. McSwain , 91, died Sunday. Joe worked for Dorothea Dix Hospital for many years as farm supervisor. Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends after the service. There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Inwood Baptist Church Cemetery on Lake Wheeler Rd. in Raleigh.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Dora McSwain, the mother of his only child Penola McSwain and 5- siblings.He is survived by his wife; Peggy McSwain; daughter, Brenda Surles; sister; Bonnie Owens; brother, Will McSwain and wife Cornelia; grandchildren, Ronald and Jason Surles; great-grandchildren, Cole, Blake and Ashlynn Surles and step-daughter, Nan Swinson and husband Frank Keeler; step-son, David Swinson and wife Becky and step-granddaughter, Erin Swinson.
