Joan Partin

Joan Faith Myatt Partin, age 68, of Fuquay-Varina, NC died on Monday, July 21, 2025 in her home. She was born on November 10, 1956 in Wake County, NC to the late Walter Jackson Myatt and Velma Lee Collins Myatt.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Randy Partin, Sr; her son, Lynn Partin and his wife, Amanda of Willow Spring, NC; her grandson, Bladen Partin of Willow Spring, NC; her sisters, Sandra Myatt of Nashville, TN and Jill Bomia of Willow Spring, NC; her brothers, Ronnie Myatt and his wife, Peggy of Cary, NC, Garry Myatt of Angier, NC and Dallas Myatt and his wife, Louann of Carrboro, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jackie Myatt and Calvin Myatt.

Joan attended North Carolina State University where she obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in microbiology and a certificate from Duke University in Medical Technology. Following her educational journey, Joan was employed by PPD, a pharmaceutical company as a Drug Research Auditor until her health no longer allowed her to work.

Outside of her career, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Often making sure that her grandson, Bladen was spoiled. A true lady of many talents and love such as working outside in her garden and flower beds, cooking, baking or sewing. She grew up on the family farm where she learned how to work, the value of work and how to take care of her family. Joan made sure that everything in the home and the yard was in tip-top shape.

Her family will receive friends and family on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
