Jimmy Herman Rowell

Jimmy Herman Rowell went home to the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on October 19, 1947, to the late Herman and Mildred Rowell. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Rowell, his sons Brandon and Jordan (Robyn) Rowell and his 5 grandchildren Hannah, Davis, Owen, Lexi and Brady, one great grandchild Oliver, and by his sister Sherry (Tony) Burgess and niece Shannon and nephew Jonathan.

Jimmy always put his faith in Jesus and his family first. He graduated from UNC and was always supportive of UNC sports especially during football and basketball seasons. He loved golfing and fishing especially when these activities were shared with his sons...those beach golf trips were the best!!

Jimmy's career was rooted in Rutherford County, NC, where he served as Vice President of Human Resources at Rutherford Hospital. He cherished the people he worked alongside and formed lifelong friendships with many of them.

While he enjoyed golfing and fishing with his sons and the time he spent at Rutherford Hospital, the true foundation of his life and family was the deep love and care he shared with his wife.

Jimmy and his wife moved to Johnston County NC after he retired so that they could be closer to family. They deeply treasured the time they were able to spend with their grandchildren as they grew up.

The family would like to thank the staff (Wally and Nicci) at Assurance Family Care Home in Clayton for the care and compassion they provided to Jimmy in his last few months, helping to make them as comfortable and meaningful as possible. They would also like to thank Hospice for their support of both Jimmy and the family during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Alzheimer's Association or to your local Hospice.
