Jimmy Lane Dupree

Rev. Jimmy Lane Dupree, 80, of Holly Springs, N.C. went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. Jimmy was born on November 3, 1945, in Willow Springs, N.C. to the late Carlton F. Dupree and Mary R. Dupree. 

Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved the Lord with all his heart and shared his faith with anyone he met. Jimmy built his life by farming tobacco for many years and then was called by the Lord to become a preacher in the 1980's. Upon retirement, Jimmy spent every moment he possibly could with his family, and attending Wooten’s Chapel FWB Church, where he recently became a member. Jimmy avidly enjoyed watching sports and especially the Boston Red Sox. 

Jimmy is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, Judy P. Dupree and their 4 children, Cynthia Whaley and husband Chris, Marcus Dupree and wife Crystal, Jennifer Figueroa and husband Sean, and James Dupree and wife Tammie. Jimmy has 8 grandchildren, Amber Miller (George), Jessica Winterholler (Chris), Katelynn Ram (Daval), Makenzie Dupree, Meghan Pina (Christian), Elora Figueroa, Abigail Figueroa, and James David (JD) Dupree (McKinley). Jimmy also has 7 great grandchildren, Kenly, Scarlett, Madilynn, Gavin, Elias, Harrison, and Wyatt. Jimmy is also survived by his two brothers, Claude Dupree and wife Sandra of Bath, N.C. and Rev. David Dupree and wife Brenda of Wendell, N.C. along with many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.

 A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Wooten’s Chapel FWB Church located at 9825 Sauls Rd, Raleigh N.C. with pastor Richard Whitman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E Mclver St, Angier, N.C. 27501.
