Jim Edward Rhoades

March 16, 1974 — August 22, 2025

ANGIER - Jim Edward "Taz" Rhoades, 51, passed away on August 22, 2025 in Angier, NC. Jim was born March 16, 1974, in Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Lee Rhoades and Annabelle Marie Rhoades, along with his niece, Crystal Davis of Waycross, GA and a step-son, Nicholas Allen of Fuquay Varina who tragically passed away earlier this year.

Jim was always larger than life. He had many nicknames like "Taz" short for Tasmanian Devil and "The Energizer Bunny" because of his seemingly unending amount of energy! He was the life of the party as his boisterous laugh filled every room he was in. His friends and family were the most important thing to him. Friends were always treated like family.

Jim had many interests including guns, hunting, arm wrestling, lifting weights, riding motorcycles, cooking and spending time with his friends.

He owned "Set in Tile" for many years. His pursuit of perfection in the tile world will live on in many houses in the Raleigh-Durham area. There was nothing he couldn't do with a piece of tile.

Jim is survived in death by his sister, Barbie Rhoades, brother-in-law, JW Whitaker both of Waycross, GA. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph David Rhoades, a nephew, Dustin Griffin of Gainesville, GA and three nieces, Danielle Lee, Victoria Rhoades and Jessica Rhoades all of Fuquay-Varina, NC. He also leaves behind two children that he had the honor of helping to raise, Mitchell Cody Rhoades of Angier, NC and Calloway Sedona Wester of Wake Forest, NC. Jim is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins mostly in Pennsylvania.

Jim recently recommitted his life back to the Lord. He had been attending Prospect Free Will Baptist Church in Dunn, NC.

A celebration of life will be held September 20, 2025, at the Captain's Landing Clubhouse, 672 Natchez Trace, Fuquay Varina, NC @ 5pm.
