Jill Bowen

BUIES CREEK—Lisa “Jill” Strickland Bowen, 65, passed away on Saturday. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clinton Strickland, Jr. and Reta Guy Strickland. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Jill graduated from Angier High School in 1973 and North Carolina State University in 1977. She earned her master’s degree in library science later while working fulltime and raising a family. Jill was a talented librarian with a passion for storytelling and music that was evident in her work and daily life. Her love for her family was unmatched. She will be missed deeply and remembered lovingly. Jill is survived by her husband, Michael L. Bowen; daughters, Anna Gregory (Brenden) of Richmond Hill, GA, Megan Sorrell (Glenn) of Angier; son, Adam Gregory (Angie) of Angier; sister, Joanna Strickland of Angier; grandchildren, Daisy Gregory, Savannah Sorrell, Greta Gregory, Luke Sorrell, Elias Sorrell, Zadie and Selah Read, Abel Gregory and Oliver Sorrell.
