Jean H. Smith

ANGIER- Jean Honeycutt Smith, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday,  following a brief illness. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 PM at Rawls Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Ella Johnson Honeycutt; her sisters, Christine Batten, Hazel Matthews, Bobbie Wilkins, and Lois Johnson; her brothers Roy, Jimmy, and Lacy Honeycutt. She graduated from Angier High School and after many years in local government work, retired from the Town of Fuquay-Varina. Jean is survived by her husband of 60 years and the love of her life, M. R. Smith, Jr.; sisters-in-law Elma Smith, Foy Weathers, and Peggy Smith; brother-in-law Jerry Smith and wife, Jean; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rawls Baptist Church, 10665 US 401 N. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
