Janice Young Price

Janice Young Price, age 80, passed away at home on March 16, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1946, in Wake County, North Carolina, to the late Charles Henry Young and Hazel Adele Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Boyd Price, Jr; Daughters, Julie Renee Shew and Amanda Leigh Huff (Matthew); son-in-law, Kevin Wesley Wells; grandchildren, Hannah Malissa Wells, Matthew Neal Huff, Jr., Brooke Leigh Huff, Noah Alexander Shew; sisters, Adele Rhodes, Polly Wrenn, Betty Fry, Sandy Haywood, and Hope Watson; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jana Michelle Wells, and her son, Jeffrey Boyd Price.

Janice was a faithful wife, dedicated homemaker, wonderful mother, grammy and, moreover, servant of God for most of her life. She traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad, but her favorite place was at home with her family in NC! She loved the seashore, jigsaw puzzles, flowers, working in her garden, feeding the backyard "critters" and bird watching with her husband in their favorite place-her sunroom!

Janice was also an ordained minister's wife, serving in pastoral ministry at three different churches through the years. She especially enjoyed working in Girls Ministries (Bluebelles/Joy Belles) with the Church of God. She also helped with various ministries in the church and became a sort of catalyst and mentor in helping other women to find their calling and place in ministry. Her husband called Janice his GGG, affectionately translated, "good godly girl!"

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Bryan-Lee funeral home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home. A burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington Street Raleigh, NC 27603.
