James "Pat" Parrish

James Parrish Jr., known to all as Pat, passed away suddenly on August 15, 2025, at his home in Jefferson, NC. He was born on April 19, 1955, in Dunn, NC, to the late J.P. and May Dell Stephenson. Pat was a proud 1973 graduate of Garner Senior High School. The services will be officiated by Pastor Charlie Carroll, Pat's life long friend since third grade.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 50 years, Billie ("BillAnn") Parrish; son, Kyle Parrish (Beverly); daughter, Jana Parrish; and faithful furry companion, Katie Bear Weston. He is also survived by his sister, Dale Hilderbrand (Rodney); brothers, J.C. Wilkins Jr. (Debra) and Greg Parrish (Jennifer); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins in Virginia and Florida. He will be fondly remembered by his lifelong best friend, John Kelly.

Pat shared a special bond with the Parrish Plumbing Sewer Rats, both the original crew and the players he later coached-years he often described as the best of his life.

A devoted fan of NC State, the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and Harley-Davidsons, Pat lived with enthusiasm and spirit. He enjoyed kayaking the New River, playing online poker, golfing, connecting with friends both near and far, and keeping in touch with old classmates and friends through Facebook-where he enjoyed sharing his opinions.

Pat will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and the deep love he held for his family and friends.

The family will receive friends for a period of visitation from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. A funeral service will follow at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel at 3:00 PM. Services will be livestreamed, with a link to view forthcoming.
