James “Jimmy” Brooks Gardner

James Brooks Gardner, 85, passed away Saturday. Jimmy, a passionate teacher, was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who retired from the United States Air Force as a Lt. Col. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45, prior to the service at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Evans Gardner; son, Curtis Gardner (Mayi); grandchildren, Laura and James; brothers, Frank Gardner (Deedee) and Stuart Gardner; sister, Lena Gardner; cousin, David Blalock (Jennie) and a large and loving extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice or a good deed to be done for someone in Jimmy’s honor.
