Jacqueline Whitt

Jacqueline Frances Painter Whitt (Jackie) was born on February 9, 1943, in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was the only child of Dr. Thomas and Frances Painter. She passed away on November 17, 2025, in Raleigh, NC. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Jackie graduated from the University of Mary Washington. On August 14, 1965, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Whitt, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted 60 years. Jackie dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, a career through which she touched countless lives with her compassion, steadiness, and gentle spirit.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill; daughters Sarah (John) High and Laura (Paul) Berens; her grandchildren, Jack (Anna) High, Alex High, Rachel High, Catherine Berens and Anna Berens.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 6pm-8pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
