Hubert Yates, Jr.

Hubert Henry Yates, Jr. 86, of Garner, NC, departed this life on earth March 8, 2015 and began a new life with his heavenly Father. Mr. Yates was born on May 9, 1928 in Raleigh, NC where he worked as a machinist for many years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Louise Yates; sons, William Danny Yates (Pam), Donald Wayne Yates, Roger Dale Yates; daughter, Teresa Yates Williford (Johnny); grandchildren, Lisa Canup Corby (Damon), Jennifer Williford Sanders (Steve), Jody Yates Zettle, Jason Yates (Carrie), Amber Yates and Ashley Yates Davis (Josh); 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norris Yates, Wilbert Yates, David Yates; sister, Doris Ennis. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Rd., Smithfield, NC 27577. A special thank you to the staff, doctor, nurses & volunteers at SECU Hospice during this difficult time of caring for Mr. Yates and his family.
