Herman Carlton Hicks

Herman Carlton Hicks, Sr., 77, died Thursday. A native of Johnston County, he was the youngest of fourteen children born to the late Morgan and Ella Shelton Hicks. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at First Baptist Church of Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his son, Carlton Hicks, Jr. and wife, Alison of Cleveland, GA; sisters, Ruth Norris, Eunice Johnson, Barbara Lamm and Lovey Jeanne Devendorf; grandchildren, Elliott, A.J. and Tozer Hicks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Hicks; sisters, Mildred Currin, Billie Woodall, Rachel Bailey, Shirley Hicks, Antionette Hicks and Cecil Stephenson; brothers, Alfred Hicks, Claiborne Hicks and Norman Hicks. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
