With full hearts and deep gratitude we celebrate the life of Helen Suzette "Sue" Soule, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Sister-In-Law, Aunt, Gardener and Friend went home on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Some would say she lost her battle with cancer, but she would argue that her Father, who had once healed her from the terrible disease, had only decided He needed her home.
Born in Oxford, North Carolina to William and Esther Hart, Sue lived a life rich in family, love, laughter and purpose. As a young girl she and her family moved to Rivera Beach, Florida where she would graduate and soon meet and marry a young solider. They traveled the globe near and abroad for more than 20 years to return and call home, Angier, North Carolina. Sue soon began her long and successful career in real estate, donning her heels and driving her big white Lincoln. She traveled working to establish her commercial real estate company Capital City Commercial Inc., Sue or "City Sue" as she was lovingly referred to enjoyed a fruitful 41 years turning clients into lifelong friends. Sue always found time at the end of her day to spend gardening with her dog, Ziggy. Sharing her love of flowers with her children and grandchildren, Savannah and Sophie. She would marvel at the beauty that the Lord had created and blessed her to care for while she toiled in her garden on warm sunny days always with a certain gentleness, love and warmth that will forever be missed.
Sue is proceeded in death by her father and mother, William and Ether Hart, and her late brother-in-law, Freddie Stancil. Sue is lovingly survived by; her once husband and dear friend Ret. Major Dennis Soule, her son Ryan Soule and wife Shaina, daughter Stephanie Soule, granddaughters Savannah and Sophie McLean, and grandson Patrick Thomas. Sue's love for family ran deep. She shared a special closeness with her two surviving sisters Kathy Stancil and Jane Howard that endured across decades and distances. She also leaves behind brother-in-law, Chick Howard, and loved nieces and nephews, Julie and Henry Moore, Bradley and Kristi Stancil, Brandy and Hugh Campbell along with a wide circle of great nieces and nephews, all of whom felt her warmth, love, humor and unwavering support.
The Family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 2:00- 2:45 PM at the Angier Baptist Church, 155 S. Hickory St., Angier. A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.
