Harold J. Barnes

EASTOVER - Harold J. Barnes peacefully passed away in Cale & Kristi's home on Friday, September 25th, 2026. He was born on July 15th, 1941, in Harnett County and spent over 20 years selling insurance before managing mobile home parks among many other things. After retirement, he enjoyed watching westerns and all sports (NASCAR [until they messed it up], college basketball, football, baseball, you name it) while of course smoking his cigarettes and spending time with family and friends.

In heaven, he was greeted by his first wife, Linda; second wife, Jeanette; son, Derek; daughter, Gwen; parents, Elmond and Lula Barnes; brothers, Phillip, Hersel, Louis, and Felton; step-brother, Walter Lee; step-sister, Flora Weeks; his two grandchildren, Craig and Cory; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his son, Cale Barnes (Kristi); grandchildren, Cory Barnes (Samantha), Heather Barnes (Bryan Cummings), Eric Barnes (Emily), Brandon Miller (Joann Stone), Chase Turlington, Chad Turlington (Sasi), Megan Barnes, and Jacob Barnes (Anna); great grandchildren, Cole, Ryan, and Tate Barnes, Killian, Emily, and Lilly Turlington.

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, immediately followed by a graveside service at 12:00 Noon at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier. Pastor Mark Howard will officiate, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
