GARNER– Gloria Jean Bird, 79, passed away at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. A native of Chicago, IL, Gloria was the daughter of the late John Michael Matula and Violet Ann Drewniak Matula. Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 the family is considering having a service at a later date. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Jeannette A. Skuce and husband, Samuel of Garner; sons, Michael Bird and fiancée, Tracey McGuyrt of Garner, Brian Bird and wife, Michelle of Garner; sister, Janet A. Robinson of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Stephan Dean Bird, Jr…
