Glenda Johnson

Glenda Dupree Johnson, 82, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Rex Hospital.

She was born in Harnett County to the late Cyrus Walton and Lizzie Rebecca Mangum Dupree. She graduated from Angier High School and then began a thirty-seven-year career with Nationwide Insurance. After retirement, she moved back to her homeplace and rejoined her church, Angier Baptist Church, for which she was the editor of a bi-weekly newsletter, The BEAM.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC 27501. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with burial at 2:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Glenn Randall Johnson; her son, Randy Lee Johnson and wife, Angela; grandson, Hunter Lee Johnson and wife, Emily; granddaughter, Hannah Leigh Johnson; sister, Nancy Dupree Tripp and husband, Dwight; brother, Steve Walton Dupree and his wife, Dianne; nieces, Jan Yeargin and husband, Jeff; Lauren Yeargin, Marina Rose Ritchie, Megan Yeargin, Ann Dupree, Sharon Holland and husband, Tim, Olivia Dupree, Vivian Solomon, and Gale Tripp; and nephews, Jakob Ludwigsen and Ethan Holland.
