George "Brent" Johnson

George Brent Johnson, 82, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Brent was born February 22, 1943 to Ralph and Naomi Whitman Johnson.

Brent was known for his quick wit and good-natured sense of humor, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. He was a life-long mechanic and devoted more than twenty years to Firestone before retiring. Outside of his professional life, Brent was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Brent is survived by daughter, Krystal McGee (Don); sons,David Johnson (Sandy), Mark Johnson, Daniel Johnson (Lea), Matthew Johnson (Brooke Buchanan), Ryan Johnson (Amanda); grandchildren, Madison McGee, Tyler McGee, David “DJ” Johnson (Carme), Gilbert Johnson, Lorna Johnson-Stanley (CoCo), Matthew Johnson (Odalys), Noelle Johnson, Sawyer Johnson, Makenzie Johnson, Madelyn Johnson, Mallory Johnson, Angel Johnson, Lucas Carbray, Jack Adams, Cheyanne Himes, Abilene Johnson, Katelynn Himes, Naomi Johnson, and Briana Johnson; eight great-grandchildren; significant other, Angela Martin; sisters Jean Sumner (Toby) and Sue Donaldson; brothers, Joe Johnson (Shirley) and Randy Johnson (Lecia).

In addition to his parents, Brent was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Denise Johnson.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC 27501. Burial will follow at Bethsaida Primitive Baptist Cemetery, 771 Hodges Chapel Rd, Benson, NC 27504. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
