Gail Musser

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Gordon Musser who departed peacefully on August 26, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Born to Willard and Mineola Gordon on June 14, 1944, Gail was a devoted mother who deeply loved and cared for the entire family. She worked hard to provide for and guide her children, Sharon Barbour Smith and Matthew Wilson Barbour, helping them grow into the successful and compassionate adults they are today. Her pride in their accomplishments was boundless, matched only by the joy she found in her role as "Grandma" to her beloved grandchildren, Calvin Andrew Smith, Ty Braxton Barbour and Jacob Daryl Barbour.

She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her gentle wisdom, and the tireless devotion she poured into her family. She taught us the importance of trust, integrity, hard work, and, above all, the power of unconditional love.

Though she is no longer with us, her influence and wonderful legacy remains. She is survived by her children, Sharon Smith, Matthew Barbour and his wife Audra Barbour, her husband Ron Smith, her grandchildren, her sister Patricia Gordon Holcomb, and a family who will miss her every day.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Willow Spring, NC on September 19 at 11 am. If you are planning to attend, please contact Matthew Barbour or Sharon Smith.
