Ermenegildo Salas Gonzalez

Ermenegildo Salas Gonzalez, 72, died Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. He was a Bridge and Highway builder who worked for the Lane Company.

He raised livestock as well as fruit and vegetables which he enjoyed cooking and feeding his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Dodgers baseball fan. He loved his family and was very happy when he was with them, especially his grandchildren.

He liked American life, and was a true Catholic, with a big heart, who shared his faith by helping others.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Rosa Castillo Tovar; daughters, Yesenia Salas Castillo and husband Osbaldo Silva and Giselle Salas-Castillo; sons, Genaro Salas- Castillo and wife, Bernice Montoya and Jose Alberto Salas Castillo; sisters, Toribia Salas Gonzalez and husband Primitivo De Santiago, Emilia Salas Gonzalez and husband Antonio Torres, Senorina Salas Gonzalez, Isabel Salas Gonzalez and husband Sergio Carrillo; brothers, Silveria Salas Gonzalez and wife Elena Salas, Isidoro Salas Gonzalez and wife Bernardina Salas, Jose Salas Gonzalez and wife Cecilia Magallanes, Isidro Salas Gonzalez and wife, Rosario Salas and Pedro Salas Gonzalez and wife Amalia Salas; grandchildren, Osbaldo Silva-Salas, Melissa Silva-Salas, Santiago Silva-Salas, Dariana Silva-Salas, Emiliano Silva-Salas, Camila Silva-Salas, Jamie Isabella Salas Montoya, Ryan Genaro Salas Montoya, Alexis Angel Salas Montoya and Adrian Jahziel Salas Montoya.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, August 14, 2025 with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Cathedral in Raleigh. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
