Ephraim "Hugh" Danford

FUQUAY-VARINA, NC – Ephraim “Hugh” Danford, 92, passed away with his family by his side Tuesday at Universal Healthcare in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Born in Brunswick County, he was the son of the late Ephraim and Jewell Sellers Danford.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 1st, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 1099 George II Hwy. SE Winnabow, NC 28479. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mable Clemmons Danford; son, Gregg Danford (Vicki) of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Doris Danford Newman (Neil) of Boiling Spring Lakes; grandchildren, Phillip Danford (Erin) of Fuquay-Varina, Kristin Price (Logan) of Raleigh, and Rebecca Cornwell of Greensboro; great-grandchilren, Jackson Danford, Ainsley Danford, and Cora Price; son-in-law, Todd Cornwell of Woolsey, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by his daughters, Debra Lynn Danford and Sherry Danford Cornwell; sisters, Veona Anderson, Bethea McMullen, and Helen Arnold; brothers, Lenwood Danford and Travis Danford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church (address above) in Hugh’s memory.
