Edna Lou Russell

Edna Lou Nix Russell, age 87, of Fuquay-Varina, NC died on Monday, April 6, 2026 in WakeMed - Cary Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Union County, GA to the late Benjamin and Lottie Nix.

She is survived by her nephew whom was like a son to her, Ray Garr; her sister, Sarah Murray; her brother, Ed Nix and a host of other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Russell; her sisters, Willa Mae Cantrell, Mary Elizabeth Cantrell, Martha Idell Garr, and Audrey Alwayne Hill; her brothers, Hollis Nix, JD Nix, AC Nix and Robert Nix.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be announced soon.
