Edna "Allene" Johnson

Edna "Allene" Johnson, 82, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, following a period of declining health. She was born in Sanford, North Carolina on February 26, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Augustus Wilbur Payne and Louise Payne.

Allene was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She grew up in Sanford and graduated from Cameron High School in 1963. The majority of her career was spent working for Pinehurst Radiology Clinic in Pinehurst, NC as an office manager. Towards the end of her career she worked as a part time bookkeeper for various nonprofit organizations. She was most fond of her family; her love and commitment to them was something to admire and was reflected in all that she did. She will be greatly missed and will forever be remembered by her family and friends as a woman of prayer, great compassion, and strength.

Allene is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie Johnson West (Kenneth West), and Catherine Lynn Johnson; brother, Harold W. Payne; and grandchildren, Rebecca Ann West, and Mark Kenneth West.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2025, from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
