Dorothy Blalock Jordan, of Willow Spring, NC, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday morning, August 24, 2025.
Dorothy was born March 4, 1943, to Willie Barnes Blalock and Virginia Dare Blalock in Willow Springs, NC. After graduating from Cleveland High School in 1962, she enjoyed a life-long career as an administrative assistant, retiring after working over 30 years with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. She and her husband Billy, married in 1963, recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Dorothy lived a life full of strength, laughter, and friendship. She loved the beach and could always find joy in a shopping trip. A dedicated volunteer, she gave her time generously for many years delivering meals with Meals on Wheels. Dorothy was also a faithful patron of Bojangles, where she could be found almost daily when able, and she cherished the simple routines that brought her joy.
Above all, Dorothy was a great friend. She treasured her friendships and family and had a gift for making others feel cared for and remembered.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Jordan; her nephew, Tony Gulley (Kim); great-nephews, Jeffrey Gulley (Courtney), Austin Gulley (Hope), and Stone Gulley (Claire), and five great-great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Helen “Pug” Hudson and her husband, Leigh; one half-sister, and 5 half-brothers.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 6605 Hilltop Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592.
