Dora M. Coats

GARNER- Dora Maynard Coats, 90, of Meadowview Assisted Living in Smithfield, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, after a long and active life. She was a faithful wife to Van Coats, Sr., for 55 years prior to his death in 2006. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30- 1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Survivors include sons, Van L. Coats, Jr. (Ann) of Pinehurst and Kenneth L. Coats of Smithfield; grandson, Nat R. Coats (Stephanie) of Raleigh; brother, Thomas Maynard (Gaynelle) of Gibsonville; sister, Betty Wright (Jim) of Wilson; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Meadowview Assisted Living for their kind care of Mrs. Coats during her time there.
