Dianne Elizabeth Barnes

Dianne Turner Barnes went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 12th 2026. She was surrounded by family and love until the very end.

Born Dianne Elizabeth Turner on August 31st 1946 to Myrtle Rheuark Turner and Brice Caldwell Turner of Graham, North Carolina, who proceeded her in death. She was a 1964 graduate of Graham High School and attended Methodist College. Dianne met her loving husband Richard Robert Barnes, Jr. in 1967 and they were married on August 12th 1967. Rick and Dianne started their lives together in Greenville, North Carolina, but lived in several towns in North Carolina over the years; including Henderson, New Bern, Fayetteville, and Charlotte before settling in Garner for their retirement years.

Dianne has three loving sons, Matthew Sloane Barnes (Alisha), Stuart Ashley Barnes (Katie) and Wesley Andrew Barnes (Alison). Family was always the focus and center of Dianne's life and this became more evident when she became known as "Gigi" to her six adored grandchildren. Payton, Sloane, Jackson, Ashley, Ellis and Julia were the center of her world. Dianne is also survived by her sister June Gayle Turner and brother Chip Turner.

Dianne loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Whether it was reminiscing and telling old stories, sharing a meal or playing bridge; Dianne filled her days until the end surrounded by the people she loved. She will be remembered most for her positive outlook on life; something that those closest to her will carry with them forever.

We will be celebrating her life on Saturday, September 5th at the Matthew's House located at 317 West Chatham Street, Cary, North Carolina from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
