Diane Lynn Grimyser

Diane Foresta Grimyser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on June 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 7, 1943, to Amalia and Dominico Foresta, Diane lived a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and extraordinary devotion to her family.

Diane's life was one of both profound loss and enduring love. In 1965, she married Richard Dara, Sr. Together they welcomed their daughter, Lisa. Tragically, Richard passed away in 1969 when Diane was just 25 years old, leaving her to navigate unimaginable grief while raising two-year-old Lisa and preparing to welcome their son, Richard, Jr.

In 1972, Diane found love once again when she married Robert "Bob" Grimyser, whom she knew through mutual friends. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, welcoming their daughter, Dana. With their marriage, Diane lovingly embraced Bob's children, Tracey and Chris, as her own, creating a home where every child knew without question that they were deeply and unconditionally loved.

To know Diane was to know the very definition of motherhood. She was a role model of selfless love and grace. Her care extended far beyond her immediate family; daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, neighbors, cousins, and friends often adopted Diane as their unofficial mother because of the warmth, generosity, and acceptance she so freely gave. No one ever left Diane's presence without a full heart or fully belly - her chicken parmesan, meatballs, and macaroni salad were legendary and brought family together around the table for years.

She was also a devoted dog mom to her precious Jackson, and her family finds comfort imagining Jackson once again walking along Heaven's shore beside Bob and Diane.

Diane was a devoted sister to her nine sisters and one brother. She treasured the special bond she shared with her siblings, and the many sister trips they enjoyed together brought her immense joy. Among her favorite memories was their cherished journey to Italy, where laughter, love, and family created memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all else, Diane was a devoted wife. Her love story with her beloved "Grimmy"- or "Robert",  when she was upset with him-spanned more than five decades. April 30, 2026, would have marked their 54th wedding anniversary. Diane was never happier than when she was by Bob's side: riding behind him on their motorcycle, skiing together down snowy slopes, speeding across Lake George in their boat, sharing stories around a campfire in the Blue Ridge Mountains, or strolling hand-in-hand on the deck of a cruise ship. Their bond was extraordinary-so deep and enduring that just sixteen weeks after Bob's passing, Diane joined him in Heaven, reunited once more with the love of her life.

Most notable was Diane's deep and abiding faith. A deeply spiritual woman, she found strength and comfort in Scripture, often reading and carefully recording Bible verses that inspired and guided her. Her faith sustained her throughout life's joys and sorrows and served as a shining example to all who knew her.

Diane leaves behind a legacy of love in her cherished children: Lisa, Richard Jr., Dana, Tracey, and Chris; her treasured grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Mark, Michael, Jacob, Reagan, and Jenna; her many beloved sisters and brother; and countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her presence.

Though her family grieves her absence, they take comfort in knowing that Diane is now at peace, reunited with those she loved and embraced forever by the God she faithfully served.

Diane's life was a testament to love-love of God, love of family, and love of others. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, the traditions she created, and the unconditional love she so generously shared.
