Dennis Coats

Dennis Wade Coats, 73, peacefully passed into the arms of our lord on August 16, 2025. Born on August 24, 1951, in Wake County to the late Shelton and Addie Coats, Dennis will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Coats; brother, George Coats; and step-son John McGinnis.

Dennis is survived by his longtime caretaker and special friend, Marsha Molden; sons, Lovett Williams and fiancé, and Dennis Olive; daughters Denise Coats and spouse, Sherri Welling and spouse, Terri McDonald, Bridgette Olive and spouse, and Marie Hope; brothers, Richard and Chester "Dale" Coats; chosen sister, Edith Standley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A period of visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529, with the funeral to follow at 3:00 PM. The committal service will be held following the funeral at Hicks Family Cemetery, 6217 Mal Weathers Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
