Debra Ann Lytle

December 11, 1966 — February 27, 2026

RALEIGH - Debra Ann Lytle, age 59, died peacefully at home on February 27, 2026, after complications from Metastasis of Non-Small cell lung cancer of the lung.

The daughter of Robert Lytle and Sharon Lee Kennedy, Debra was born on December 11, 1966, in Harrogate, England where her father worked for the State Department. Back in the US, she attended grade school in Severn and went to Fort Meade High school (c/o 1984) where she and her two siblings, Dawn and Steven, frequented all of the best of the Annapolis area. Post graduation the family spent several years in South Korea where Dad was working for NSA. While not in armed forces as a service member, Debra served the United States in a civilian role as a radio operator and Test proxy for US Army soldiers in Seol, South Korea.

Upon return, Debra attended Johns Hopkins in 1989 for her Investment Banking Certificate then worked a number of years in that industry. Years later Debra married chef Matt on December 11, 2001, and moved from Lewes, DE where she worked as a Real Estate Coordinator until this month of February in Raleigh, North Carolina. Here with husband Matt (who transitioned into a Microsoft Software Engineer) she carved out an amazing career with some of the biggest firms in Raleigh and made some of the greatest friends, co-workers, passerby dog walkers, attorneys, contractors, etc. and all have a great story about their interactions with one of the friendliest, funny and cheerful persons you could ever hope to meet.

In her spare time, Debra enjoyed being outdoors, especially while boating and cycling. She was also an avid culinary enthusiast.

Debra leaves behind her husband, Matt; her stepdaughter, Olivia Greth; and the beloved siblings of her husband: Peter, Ann, Paula, Bill, Christine, Michael, Cody, Joe, Fabby, William, Jordan, and Ashlar.
