Deborah Lee

Deborah Rose Benson Lee, 64, of Raleigh, born on August 4, 1960, passed away on May 17, 2025, after a very short battle with cancer. She was a member of Serving Him Church in Raleigh, N.C. She was raised, as a child, at Layton Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Lake N.C., where she loved to play the piano and sing. She was a 1978 graduate of Western Harnett High School, in Lillington.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Benson of Spring Lake.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jerry D. Lee of Raleigh. Her mother Emily Benson of Spring Lake, her brothers Dennis Benson (Tracy) of Pigeon Forge, TN and David Benson (Kim) of Chesapeake, VA. She loved her nieces and nephews: Tony, Heather, Alex, and Ally, her great nieces and great nephews Bryler, Braelyn, Waylon, Bryndal, Sadie, and Brystal, with all of her heart. Her large extended family includes many uncles, aunts, and cousins. She will also be missed by her special friends Bill and Maureen Mashburn of Raleigh and many others.
