David Howard Biles

David Howard Biles, age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the VA Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. He was born on March 10th, 1959, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late James E. Biles and Elizabeth C. Biles.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Davis Biles; his daughter, Schuyler Kendall Biles; his sisters Deborah Nichols and Susan Yerby, and brother James Biles, Jr.

David is fondly remembered for his devotion to his Christian faith and his discipleship to others. David invested in others' faith journeys by sharing his own story and encouraging them to walk paths in accordance with God's will. David was no stranger to relishing in God's creation as an avid backpacker and hiker, particularly in the Western United States. David was granted the privilege to travel the world twice in his eleven-year service of the Air Force and often regaled listeners with his stories of adventure and risk. While David had an incredibly successful career in Industrial Engineering and Project Management, he enjoyed sharing his hobbies of backpacking, beekeeping, and cycling with his daughter, Schuyler; he often used these moments to impart wisdom and foster connection with her. As David knew no strangers, his nature was often to offer encouragement and humor to all.

His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Holland's Church, 9433 Ten-Ten Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
