Cozie Lee Williford

Cozie Lee Williford, 86, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wake County, North Carolina on February 15, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Stamey Durant McLean and Care Ree McLean.

Cozie was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. The thing she was most fond of was her family, her love and commitment to them was something to admire and was reflected in all that she did. She will be missed greatly and will forever be remembered by her family and friends as a woman of great compassion and strength.

In addition to her parents, Cozie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, James L. Williford; daughters, Portia Metz and Connie Jean Willford; grandson, Brandon Metz; and by her brother, Bobby D. McLean

Cozie is survived by her children, David Williford (Sissy), Sherry Sorrell, (Corbin), Jenny Phillips (Steven), and Stamey Williford (Wanda); brother, Steve McLean; sister, Jean Thubet; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and by 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Kennebec Baptist Church, 9808 Kennebec Church Rd, Angier, NC 27501. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial to take place shortly afterward in the church cemetery.
