Constance "Connie" Parsons Bell

Constance “Connie” Parsons Bell, age 92, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, entered into the Lord’s presence on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 following a short illness.

She was born on November 25, 1931 in Elkins, WV. She graduated from Elkins High School before attending the Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville, Kentucky, where she graduated with a nursing diploma in 1953. In 1960, Connie entered the United States Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant and worked as a flight nurse, eventually exiting the Air Force in 1965 with the rank of Captain. Shortly after moving to Florida, she met her husband, Charles Franklin Bell. They married in July, 1970 and would have their only child, Lance James Bell, in 1971. Connie spent the next few decades working in various hospitals in and around the Jacksonville, Florida area as a Registered Nurse. She retired from nursing in the early 1990's and lived in Orange Park, Florida until moving to North Carolina in 2015 to be with her son and daughter-in-law. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals, spending time with her friends and family, attending bible studies and home fellowships, reading, and being with her grandchildren. She also spent many days handing out gospel tracts and enjoyed evangelizing to anyone who crossed her path, including during her last few days in the hospital. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Cary Church in Apex, NC.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, four sisters, and her husband. Survivors include brothers, Jim (Kay) Parsons of Elkhart, Indiana; Stephen Parsons of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; Arnold (Shirlene) Parsons of Daggett, Michigan, and Thomas Parsons of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Kathy (Dick) Collins of Marco Island, Florida;  son, Lance (Domini) Bell of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and 2 grandchildren, Breanna Nicole Bell (age 11) and Dakota Blake Bell (age 9), also of Fuquay-Varina.

Her funeral will be held at noon on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Calvary Chapel Cary in Apex, NC. The family will receive guests at the church immediately following the service. After this service, she will be moved to Orange Park, Florida for interment with her late husband at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
