Clara Young

Clara Sauls Young, age 91, of Angier, NC died on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in her home. She was born on February 27, 1934 to the late Terrance Sauls and Ila Stephenson Sauls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hershal Lee Young; her brother, William Lee Sauls.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Ken Young and his wife, Brenda, Tony Len Young and Michael Lee Young and his wife, Linda; her sister, Linda Gail Stephenson; her grandchildren, Colby Young Mills (Stan), Shay Young Pleasant (Jason), Dallas Young, Leah Young McNeill, Hollie Young, Eva Denny and Dwight McClure; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren; a special niece, Christy Stephenson and special nephew, Brian Stephenson as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.

Clara was a member of Angier Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess, Sunday School Director, VBS Director, Bereavement Committee and the Golden Gem Senior Adults. The Golden Gems Senior Adults were her passion for many years. She put much time, thought and effort into helping plan out all the luncheons, activities and trips celebrating the lives of the senior adults. The Golden Gems, already in Heaven, better get their traveling shoes on because Clara is making plans now for the reunion of the Saints.

Clara worked and retired with over 25 years of service at Carolina Securities. She made sure that all the clients were always taken care of. Following her retirement, Clara and Hershal opened, ran and operated Leader Mobile Home Sales in Angier.

Her family will receive family and friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:45 am in the Angier Baptist Church. And other times at the home.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Angier Baptist Church. Her burial will follow the service in Angier Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
