Clara Griffin Stephens

Clara Griffin Stephens, 89, died Monday.  Born in Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lorraine Griffin of Snow Camp. She was a charter member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00- 12:00  prior to the service. Survivors include her sons, Douglas Stephens of Morrisville and Edward Stephens and wife, Dee of Charlotte; grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron and Leslie Stephens of Raleigh and Alison Williams of Garner; great-grandchildren, Logan and Violet Williams of Garner; sister, Bertha McBane of Altamonte Springs, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Algie Stephens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
