Christopher Newton Penny

Christopher Newton “Figg” Penny, age 73, of Panther Branch, North Carolina, passed peacefully in his home on December 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on August 17, 1952, in Wake County to the late Christopher Columbus Penny and Mary Elizabeth Penny.

He leaves behind his loving bride, Brenda T. Penny, of 46 years; his dear daughters, Michelle Penny Moore and Beth Penny; and his beloved grandchildren, Lyla Grace and Cody. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Penny, and his wife, Thelma, along with many cherished family members and dear friends.

Newton was an avid outdoorsman-a passionate hunter and fisherman. In the woods and near the water was where he found his happiness, always happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

He founded Newton’s Heating and Air Conditioning, which he proudly owned and operated for 52 years. He was deeply passionate about his work and genuinely cared for his customers.

Above all, Newton carried a strong love for the Lord in his heart.
