Christopher Howell Oakley

RALEIGH – Christopher Howell Oakley, 34, of Raleigh, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2020, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Christopher is survived by his son, Keenan River Oakley; and the mother of his son, Jen Martinez of Raleigh; mother, Diane Dalton Thoman and partner, Michael French of Raleigh; father, James Howell Oakley and wife, Barbara of Jacksonville; and his sister, Catherine Maddox and husband, Patrick of Raleigh. He is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brothers and their families. Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Doris Crawford and Bruce Dalton, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Viola Howell Oakley and Eugene Melvin Oakley; his uncles, Dr. Bruce Dalton, Jr. and Ralph Bassett, and his step-father, Harold Eugene Thoman. Due to COVID-19, no formal services are planned at this time. The family will announce service details about a celebration of Christopher’s life at a later date.
