Obituary

Charles F. "Charlie" Dealy, Jr. of Holly Springs, NC and formerly Arundel, Maine died on October 21, 2026, at the age of 78 from complications of multiple sclerosis (MS) and dementia. He was born on October 30, 1947, in Bremerton, Washington. The family moved to Maine where he attended public school in York. He served in the US Navy in Europe and upon his discharge, he enrolled in Southern Maine Technical College and graduated as a licensed HVAC technician. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine until his retirement in 2002.

Charlie married his wife, Ruth, in 1972. Together, they bought the 1820 Johnson Patten house in Arundel, Maine, and he enjoyed renovating it during the 41 years they lived there. Charlie was also active in the town and served on the Recreation Committee and Historical Society. As his MS progressed, they moved to North Carolina in 2016 to be closer to family. Through it all, Charlie never lost his wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke to make those around him laugh.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles Dealy, Sr. and Ann (Piroso) Dealy, and his sister Susan Donnell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth, and daughter, Elizabeth Bissonnette, her husband Jarod; and grandsons, Bryce and Miles.
