Carrie Mann Collier

GARNER- Carrie Mann Collier, 92, passed away on her birthday surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hyde Co., she was the daughter of the late James E. Mann and Carrie Bridgman Mann. Carrie retired as an elementary teacher after 20 years in the Roanoke Rapids school system. After moving to Garner in 1990, she began a new life with family, friends and church. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and loved to travel. . Funeral Services will be held at the Garner UMC 11:00 on Wednesday, December 26.Burial will be at 3:00 pm at Garysburg UMC Cemetery in Garysburg, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband; John R. Collier. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn C. Brewer and husband Don; sons, John R. Collier, Jr. and wife Annamarie, Kent M. Collier and wife Helen, and William B. Collier and wife Susan; half sister Kay Anthony and cousin Walter Grey Credle.She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and extended family.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
