Carol Edwards Williford, 76, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, with her husband and children by her side.
Born September 6, 1948, on her family farm in Red Oak, North Carolina, Carol often spoke fondly of her rural life and upbringing. She was a 1966 graduate of Red Oak High School. She was preceded in death by her father, Jasper Merriott Edwards, her mother, Hattie Grace Griffin Edwards, and her brother, Jasper "Doug" Edwards.
Carol devoted her career to public service with the North Carolina Parole Commission, where she retired in 1999. A faithful follower of Jesus, she was a long-time member of Red Oak Baptist Church and a recent member of Catawba Springs Christian Church. Carol often shared the importance of Christ's love and redemption, encouraging others to seek His grace and salvation.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Williford; her son, Brad Williford (Fabiana), of Holly Springs; her daughter, Jennifer Paddack (Brent), of Fuquay-Varina; her daughter, Lindsay Alt (Frankie) of Fuquay-Varina; and by her seven cherished grandchildren.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Catawba Springs Christian Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
Her legacy of love and faith will continue through all who were blessed by her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
