Bryant Truit Nash, 81, of Garner, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 9, 1944, in Duncan, North Carolina, Bryant spent most of his life in Garner, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, hard work, and laughter.
Bryant was the devoted husband of 60 years to Joann Carroll Nash, whose partnership and love were the foundation of their family. He is survived by his loving wife, Joann; his sons, Tony Nash and wife Tara, and Brad Nash and wife Jennifer; his cherished grandchildren, Marley, Gracey, Brady, Violet, and Lillian; and his sister, Glennie Poe. He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose family meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Nash; his mother, Leona Nash; his brothers, John, Watt, and Ed; and his sisters, Dot, Alice, and Jean.
Bryant proudly served in the United States Marine Reserves from 1965 to 1970. He was also a dedicated Master Mason and a longtime member of Garner Masonic Lodge No. 745. He was a proud member of Pollock's Ferry Hunting Club for more than 50 years, where he shared countless memories and friendships doing what he loved most. Throughout his life, Bryant was known for his strong work ethic and the friendships he built along the way. He worked at North Hills Inc., later became a self-employed general contractor, and finished his career working alongside lifelong friends at T.W. Smith Corporation in Raleigh.
Bryant loved the outdoors and cherished hunting and fishing, but nothing meant more to him than time spent with his family. Some of his happiest moments were shared at his cabin outside of West Jefferson, where family gatherings created memories that will be treasured forever.
Bryant never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people laugh and was always laughing himself. His warmth, humor, and love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Those closest to him will forever remember his heartfelt response whenever someone told him, "I love you" - he would smile and say, "I love you big time!"
