Bonnie Key Godfrey

Bonnie Key Godfrey, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born in Stokes County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Mamie Ashburn Key.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jerry Blue Godfrey; daughter, Kimberly Nichole Godfrey (Michael) of Angier; son, Kevin Nicholas Godfrey (Suzanne) of Knightdale; sister, Barbara Key McDaniel (Tony) of Cooleemee; grandchildren, David Godfrey, Josh Godfrey, Lance Godfrey, Kayla Hutchins (Robert), Avery Dean; great-grandchildren, August Hutchins and one baby on the way.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her sisters, JoAnn Key Spainlour and Marie Key Holt; brothers, Ray Key, Howard Key, and Roy Key; mother-in-law, Mamie Morrison Godfrey; father-in-law, Ernest Godfrey.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 31st in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver St. Angier, NC 27501.
