Bobby Lewis

Bobby Eugene Lewis, age 83, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1942, to Flossie Louise Wise and Layton Marlond Lewis in Harnett County, North Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents, Flossie and Layton Lewis; and his brothers, Harold and Lawrence Lewis.

Bobby served two years in the U.S. Army and later worked sixty years in construction as both a welder and crane operator. He was a proud member of the Wake County Beekeeper's Association and kept bees for over thirty-five years. He loved his family, flounder fishing, beekeeping, tinkering in his basement, and helping out others. He was mechanically-inclined and always had a project to work on, new or old. His motto was "Why buy it, if you can make it?"

Bobby is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gail Lewis; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Becky Lewis; his grandchildren, Landon and Anna Lewis; his sisters and brother-in-laws, Nancy and William Meadows, Judith and Fred Reavis; and his granddog, Bo.

The viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00, followed by a 12:00 funeral service at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home located at 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. The burial will be after the service and will take place at Mingo Baptist Church located at 1465 Mingo Church Rd, Dunn, NC 28334.
