Billy Glenn Fish

Billy Glenn "Bill" Fish, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at his home in Clayton, NC surrounded by his family.

Born on May 12, 1943, in Angier, NC, Bill was the son of the late Glen Rudolph Fish and Annie-Belle Fish. He grew up in a close-knit community and graduated from Garner Senior High School in 1961. He continued his education at Louisburg Junior College before attending North Carolina State University; an institution that would remain close to his heart throughout his life.

Bill started his professional career as a news cameraman at WRAL-TV in Raleigh. After several years in the television industry, Bill's outgoing personality and gregarious nature led him into a career in sales. His first position as a sales representative was with Campbell Soup / Pepperidge Farm. Later in his career, Bill worked with C&A Equipment Company in Raleigh.

A devoted member of North Street Baptist Church in downtown Raleigh, Bill found strength and community through his faith. Bill shared both fellowship and friendship with members of the congregation.

Outside of work and church, Bill enjoyed a rich personal life filled with hobbies that brought him joy. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and golf. Bill was also a loyal supporter of N.C. State basketball and football.

Bill's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Phyllis Fish; his son, Michael Fish (wife Diane); his daughter, Michelle (Fish) Angel (husband Randy); and two grandsons who brought him immense joy-Hunter Angel and Kaden Fish. Bill also leaves behind his faithful pup, Charlie, who stayed by his side until the very end.

Bill's warmth and vibrant spirit touched many lives. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. The Visitation for Bill Fish will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home on 1200 Benson Road in Garner, NC. The Visitation will be followed by a funeral service from noon until 1:00 pm. The burial will be at Soapstone United Methodist Church Cemetery on Old Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, N.C.
