Betty Tunstall Williams, 75, of Angier, NC left for her heavenly home on June 24th, 2021. Betty was born in Raleigh, NC at “old Rex” as a special Valentine on February 14th, 1946, to Verne and Mary Lee Tunstall. She was raised in Apex and the Green Level community before moving to Angier later in life. She double majored at East Carolina University in English and Library Media Science and completed both degrees in two years and ten months and later received her master’s degree from UNC-Greensboro while working in Raleigh and commuting to Greensboro. She was a devoted educator and champion of learning opportunities for all serving as a Wake County Public and School Librarian. She had a passion for reading, learning, and helping others through numerous volunteer organizations throughout her life. Betty was a lifelong devoted Christian and member of several churches most recently, Neill’s Creek Baptist Church in Angier. A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 27th at 4:30 pm at Neill’s Creek Baptist Church, Angier, NC. A live stream will be available for viewing on the YouTube channel of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be held on Monday, June 28th at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 3:30-4:15 pm. Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, NC. Betty is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, William Lee Tunstall and numerous extended family and dear friends. Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Larry Williams; daughter, Sarah Williams Hale (Justin); son, James Carlton Williams (Sarah); sister-in-law, Charlotte Rowe Williams; granddaughter, Vivian Pearl Hale; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Betty had a servant’s heart and always wanted to help others. In her memory, we ask that you find a way to continue to share that compassion by offering random acts of kindness to others.
