Betty G. Pollard, 88, from Angier, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 9, 2025. Betty was born on June 24, 1937 to Oscar & Hattie Gregory. She is preceded in death by her brothers Sunny Boy, Tilmon, Johnnie & Bud Gregory and by her sisters Alva Hamilton, Mavis Hughes, Marjorie Gregory, Verlene Campell, Lozzie Thompson and her grandson, Daniel Pollard.
Betty lived a full life of love, joy, and happiness! She worked hard and began her career at the Erwin Mills. She had a smile that would light up the room and her hugs were warm and comforting. Most who knew Betty, or "Mema" as we so affectionately called her, knows how much she loved to cook, and work in the yard. Her chicken pastry biscuits and pound cake were Mema's staple and something that nobody will ever be able to replace. But more importantly, she taught us about love, loyalty and the importance of family. Mema loved the Lord with all her heart and was ready to meet her Lord and Savior!
She married the love of her life, Joseph Pollard, 71 years ago, on October 2nd. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Pollard (Dianne) and Donnie Pollard; brother, Jerry Gregory (Joyce); grandchildren, Crystal Pepper (Josh), Ricky Humphries, Mitchell Pollard (Amanda), Brandon Pollard (Jess), & Timothy Pollard and seven great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff and nurses at Liberty Homecare & Hospice for their care and generosity during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Hilltop Church and all of our family, friends and loved ones for their prayers, calls, visits and food.
