Betty Dale Edwards

Betty Dale Edwards, 82, of Raleigh, NC peacefully departed to be with the Lord on September 4, 2025.

Born June 24, 1943, to her mother Alma Parrish Hicks and father Thomas Hardy Hicks.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a North Carolina native and a class of 1961 graduate from Broughton High School in Raleigh. She was a resident of the Swift Creek Community for many years, and a member of Inwood Baptist Church.

In her younger years Betty enjoyed cooking for her family, especially on holidays, gardening & canning, as well as sewing. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, shopping, music & dancing, and loved the outdoors. The beach was her favorite place to be, second only to spending time with her two grandsons.

Betty retired from GlaxoSmithKline as Manager of Reprographics & Tele-communication services, where she had many fond memories. She was a member of The American Women's Business Association and served on the Ladies Auxiliary for the Swift Creek Fire Department. Throughout her life Betty never met a stranger and built a lifetime of friendships & memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Hardy Hicks; her late husband, James Stacey Edwards; and her long-term companion, Frank Roberts. She is survived by her son, James Bart Edwards of Clayton, NC; daughter, Kimberly Dale Daughtry and husband, Joseph Daughtry of Nashville, NC; sister's, Bonnie Turner of Fuquay Varina, NC and Beverly Benson of Willow Springs, NC; grandson's, Sean Allen Moyer and Carter Alan Edwards.
