Bettie June Poole

Garner – Bettie June Leathers Poole, 86, died Monday. Born in New Hanover County, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Tessie Johnson Leathers. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will be private. Survivors include her daughter, Lana Poole Barnwell (Pete); sons Dewey Poole (Mary) and James Poole (Renee), all of Raleigh; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Brookie Richard (B.R.) Poole, Jr.; sisters, Rosalyn Estes and Mickey Vozzola. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 215 S. Person Street, Raleigh, NC 27603 or a charity of your choice.
