Bernard Jones, 79, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center, Asheboro, North Carolina. Born in Pantego, North Carolina on March 14, 1933, Bernard was the 3rd son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Arlease M. Jones. He was preceded in death by sister Charlotte M. Pitts; brothers Henry D. and Clarence C. Jones.He attended Beaufort County High School and later moved to New York and worked at the Allied Chemical Company in Long Island City, New York and retired from Jo-Lo Bus Company in New York and moved to Raleigh, NC with daughter.Survivors include his daughters, Thomasine Johnson (Henry), Midland, Ga.; Arlecia Heath (Kevin), Brooklyn, NY; Beryl Watkins (Marvin), Raleigh, NC; Monique Jones of Florida; Sabrina Wright (David), New Jersey; and Robin of New York; two sons, Bernard Jr., and Darryl of New York. He also left to cherish his memory are 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. One sister Lutelle Lilley of Suffolk, VA.; his four brothers, James O. Jones of Greenville, NC; Welton E. Jones (Cora); Dr. Bernell Jones (Betty) of Durham, NC and Arnell Jones (Brenda) of Glenn Dale, Md.; sister-in-law Bettie M. Jones of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.He was a Beloved Father Figure to: Djuan, Anthony, Edward, Flovette, LaShaundra, Michael and a Dear Friend Toya.Bernard was an avid watcher of the news and would often talk intelligently on politics (local, national, international).He loved to dance and would dress to kill all the time.His nick name was Good Time Bernie. Oftentimes, people would ask Bernard, How did he live his life? His reply was, I live my life to the fullest. He was a very generous person to all individuals he loved and cherished.
