Bennie Martin Broome

Bennie Martin Broome, 77, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. Bennie was born August 25, 1943, in LaFayette, GA, to the late Hurschel and Mattie Smith Broome. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Berry College with a BS in business and math. Bennie retired from General Electric, in Rome, GA, where he worked in engineering and marketing. He loved Jesus and will be forever in his presence, praising God. Bennie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, was a member of the men’s intercessory prayer group, and volunteered several years on the audio/video team. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 5, 2021, at 2PM, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3414 North Shiloh Road, Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bennie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Broome; children, Steven Broome and wife, Wanda and Karen Broome; grandsons, Joshua, Matthew, and Andrew, that he greatly loved and was loved by; brother, Charles Wayne Broome and wife, Alva Jean; brother-in-law, John Hill and wife, Jeanette; sister-in-law, Glenda Osborne; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bennie was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Marie Hill and a brother-in-law, Jerry Osborne.
